Rene specializes in Pennsylvania government relations and regulatory policy advocacy. With over two decades of experience working with the Pennsylvania legislature and executive branch, Rene offers bipartisan expertise in aligning client objectives with government policies to achieve impactful results.

Professional Experience

Before 1812 Strategies, Rene was a Government Affairs Counselor at K&L Gates LLP in Harrisburg, where she was part of the firm’s public policy group. Prior to K&L Gates, Rene was the Deputy Secretary of Legislative Affairs in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office, where she crafted and executed legislative strategies to advance the Governor’s agenda across key state agencies, including the Departments of Environmental Protection, Revenue, and Transportation, and the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Rene has served as Director of Legislative Affairs at the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue after previously holding the position of Assistant Legislative Director. In these senior roles she championed legislative efforts related to taxation and the Lottery, including major business tax reforms that modernized the state’s tax system and compliance practices.

Rene began her career in a senior staff position with the Pennsylvania House Democratic Caucus, where she tracked House floor activity and advised leadership on messaging and legislative strategy.
